from the living room into the wide world with his debut-album „plans to leave for good” p for pepsine demonstrates in a remarkable way that he belongs amongst the most talented swiss songwriters. the nonchalance of his songs is unexcelled in this country, his fragile and vulnerable voice is unique and the way he plays the guitar marks an enjoyable distinction. recently pepsine has attached electronic flavours to his songs. and again he sticks to the principle: less is more. it is rare that an artist manages to integrate his new impacts into the song arrangements in such a low-key manner. pepsine even meets this challenge very successful. the present album was produced by his own initiative in his living room. the songs reflect quite clear this cosy and personal environment. in the terrific song „the map of the world“ he merges incredible unpretentious melodic arcs with lofi-beats, in the hit „i’m a capricorn, i’m a fallen twin“ he combines the rather complex composition with an elaborate melancholy. the intensity of the album is stunning – while listening it almost seems that you find yourself together with pepsine in his living room („frozen fragments“, „magnoliastar“, „this is for tonight“). and even the rather chilly storm in the song “hibernation” is not able to crush the impression that p for pepsine scored a big match with his debut album.
